Excellent 1920s WHITING & DAVIS Enameled Beadlite Metal Mesh Flapper HAND BAG PURSE! This exceptional vintage 1920s Whiting & Davis enameled metal mesh hand bag is in excellent, original, untouched vintage condition. Geometric pattern is equally bright on both sides, photos show front and back. Colors creamy, moving from brown and mauve to warm yellow.
There are no visibly detached or missing tiles, no missing links or holes. I do not see any enamel loss, the tiles are beadlite type with convex surface.
Ornate silver plated frame is straight and it closes perfectly with a snap. The original chain drops 6. Beautiful flapper era bag measures 7 1/8 in height and 4 wide. It is marked WHITING & DAVIS inside the well preserved interior on both sides of frame. Minor wear, in case i missed something, is normal and not obtrusive at all.
This gorgeous bag belonged to a prestigious and very extensive collection.
